Work Package 3

WP3: Upscale skills to Blue market challenges

Lead beneficiary: RLU

Participants: Uvigo-CdM, ICSEM, Port of Vigo, Aclunaga, LRU, CIT, MI, Cespesca, IMDO

Objectives:

Following the conclusions drawn from the demands of the industry and training weaknesses, a set of courses and webinars on key sectors will be developed. The programme of the courses and webinars will include actions taught by professionals from the private sector aimed at teachers to update certain aspects of training in response to the new challenges of the companies and courses developed by university and VAT education, combining experts from the countries included in the consortium for students and recent graduates. At least, one course will be implemented per sector in each consortium country, involving in the design and development experts from each country of the Consortium. The courses will have a knowledge exchange programme in order to promote the mobility of professionals and young graduates throughout the training centres of the consortium countries. Additionally, a webinar tool will be designed and linked to the platform to support digital seminars.

Description of work

T 3.1 Tainting for employment

Duration: M8 – M24

Description: Implementation of training courses and seminars to meet specific gaps of the NW Atlantic port environment market: shipbuilding, fishing and seaport logistics. All the countries and training centres will be involved in the design and implementation

T 3.2 Evaluation of the skills acquired by students with the course

Duration: M8 – M24

Description: A satisfaction survey will be designed and implemented to assess the degree of satisfaction of the students (technical and organizational), the skills acquired, and the improvement of the employment situation or the impact on the labour market. The centres in charge for the implementation of each course will be responsible for obtaining the feedback from students.

T 3.3 Digital Knowledge Transfer Tools

Duration: M8 – M24

Description: Implementation of a specific training environment linked to web page, to develop formative courses and webinars. This service will integrate already designed courses, but also is conceived as a facilitating environment to develop new training courses. During the development of this project this service will be free to boost the network. The service will offer a space in which training centres; private-public researchers and technology centres will be able to register as potential lecturers for demanded knowledge areas. To do this, a form will be created where interested parties will be able to make their registration at specified categories of knowledge, according to their professional development. This data base of specialist of the maritime-port sector will start with the participants of the project and will be increased with the development of the project and dissemination of the network.

T 3.4 Exchange programme

Duration: M8 – M24

Description: On the basis of the established Network, this will become the frame of reference for the exchange of knowledge and professionals of this sector, fostering the development of trans-regional maritime training. A Knowledge exchange Call for mobility is proposed for both students and professors of the partners involved in the project to either attend as a student, or to teach courses.
